The Human Problem – Sin:

The Consequence of Sin:

  1. Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
  • This verse highlights the consequences of sin, which is death—meaning eternal separation from God. However, it also introduces the solution: the gift of God, which is eternal life through Jesus Christ.

 

 

The Solution – Christ’s Sacrifice:

  1. Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • Despite our sins, God demonstrated His love for us through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, who died in our place.

 

 

The Response – Faith:

  1. Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
  • Salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ—by confessing Him as Lord and believing in His resurrection.

 

 

The Assurance of Salvation:

  1. Romans 10:13: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
  • This verse assures us that anyone who calls on the name of Jesus Christ for salvation will be saved.

 

 

The Result of Salvation – Peace with God:

  1. Romans 5:1: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
  • Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are justified and have peace with God, signifying a restored relationship with Him.

 

 

Living in the Spirit:

  1. Romans 8:1: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
  • This verse emphasizes that those who are in Christ are not condemned but live according to the Spirit, leading a transformed life.

God, I know that I am a sinner and that the wages of sin are death. I believe that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, as a payment for my punishment. I declare that Jesus is my Lord and profess my faith for salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Thank you for your grace, forgiveness, peace, and gift of eternal life. Amen!
